Congratulations to two fine Christian scholars: Dr. Bradley Birzer of Hillsdale and Dr. Roy Clouser, professor emeritus from New Jersey College. Both have won, in my opinion, the highest of literary honors; that is, their books ranked in the top two books I have read during the past year.
Sad to say, the Ben House Best Books Award does not include cash prizes, a nice medal or plaque, or other benefits. It does not seem to open doors to key interviews, literary circles, or influential think tanks. It lacks the prestige of a Nobel or Pulitzer Prize. It is merely a reader telling an author and whatever audience is out there: This is a really great book! That in itself is not a bad prize.
